Getting ready for the 2023 summer season, Bansko Ski Center has announced the Gondola working hours for the summer. The lift will start from the Gondola station in Bansko and terminate in Banderishka Polyana. Transfer time is about 30'.
What Can I do there in the summer?
The mountain is amazing in the summer!
- From Banderishka Polyana, you can take one of the numerous hiking trails leading to exciting destinations.
- There are some fun activities for the children with floated playgrounds, water slides & many more.
- You can enjoy your beverage of choice or have lunch in the Alpine restaurant.
- You can just go there to enjoy the scenic evergreen way up the mountain. On the way, you can have amazing views of Bansko and the green meadows. An experience not to be missed!
What is the Gondola Schedule?
From 09.05.2023 to 30.06.2023, there will be a one-way up lift at 08.00 with a departure time of 16.30.
From 01.07.2023 to 06.09.2023, the lift will go on continuously from 08.00 till 16.30 (last climb)
From 07.09.2023 to 30.11.2023, there will be a one-way up lift at 08.00 with a departure time 16.30.
What is the price?
The price for a round-trip is 40BGN for adults, 35 BGN for students, 25BGN for children 7-12 years old, while younger children ride for free! There are also other types of cards like season cards or one way ticket cards. Here are 7 reasons why it is a great idea to spend part of your summer days embraced by the beautiful Pirin Mountain.
1. Clean air and health benefits are the usual combination, while spending time in the Pirin Mountains.
Imagine in the morning, opening your window at Premier Resort and breathing mountain fresh air. Pirin National Park represents over 40,000 hectares with centuries-old forests. Part of the park is a protected area, awarded by UNESCO as an area of special importance for biodiversity in Europe.
This huge national park brings summer freshness to anyone who decides to spend time nearby. There are so many health benefits. Pirin air is saturated with oxygen, fresh and cool. 3. Rivers, lakes, springs - water treasures from the nature of Bansko.
Did you know that Pirin Mountain has 170 lakes with a total area of 18,000 decares? Some of the most beautiful lakes are accessible and can be seen with just an hour’s walk. Bezbog hut, which is accessible by car, is located right next to Bezbog Lake, which is worth seeing. From the Vihren hut you can visit Lake Okoto easily, as it is only 40 minutes away. Another 20 minutes and you are in front of Popovo Lake surrounded by forests and mountains, the views are breath-taking.
What could be a more wonderful summer experience than walking in green forests and jumping over streams? There are three big rivers around Bansko - Glazne, Demyanitsa and Banderishka. Three great treasures! And the whole mountain and forest is cut by smaller rivers and streams, which flow into one of the three. Water flows through the central part of the city, in special gutters to the streets, pleasantly cooling the air and bringing a unique atmosphere.
While walking in Bansko or in the mountains on the eco trails, you always hear the rustling of the river, as if this relaxing sound haunts you. Who does not want such a cool company?

4. Sports summer in Bansko.
It is important to everyone to live an active life. But often in the cities we do not have enough time spent on sports outdoors or it might not be such a pleasant experience with the hot and polluted air.
The mountains surrounding the Premier Resort provide great opportunities for mountain climbing (hiking), for walks in the coolness of centuries-old pine trees, for mountain running and mountain biking. It is mountain biking that is gaining momentum in recent years in Pirin. Routes of varying difficulty, even for beginners, surround the forests above the Premier Resort.
You can join one of the guided groups of mountain biking or explore the area by yourself. Premier Resort also offers a fitness and a personal trainer for those who want to stay in shape during the holidays and prefer to play sports indoors.
5. "You are my beautiful forest"
The centuries-old trees of the Pirin Mountains are sung in folk art and not by chance. The beautiful peaks of the mountain are harmoniously combined with the greenery of the pines. 20 minutes drive from Premier Resort up the road to Vihren hut is the most popular tree in Bulgaria - Baikushevata Mura. Nearly 1,300-year-old tree is the only one to survive a massive fire that destroyed the whole area. The feeling of being close to this wonderful plant specimen is exciting and very grounding. 1300 species of higher plants have been identified in the Pirin Mountains. The Edelweiss flower is another symbol of the Pirin Mountain and is found on the high peaks, which are the first to meet the sun.
6. Healing mineral hot springs
Only 5 km from Premier Resort is the small village of Banya. The 75 springs with healing mineral water are the reason to call the village of Banya the Mineral Paradise of Bulgaria. This is the reason why we visit with great joy the pools with different water temperatures from 32 degrees to 42 degrees. The feeling of immersing yourself in a pool with the right (warm) water temperature is worth experiencing. It is even more pleasant to know that all the time the healing water works wonders with your body and soul.
7. Festivals of traditions and art.
Summer is the festival time. There are so many of them in Bansko that you should carefully plan at least a few visits to the mountain town.
For example, at the beginning of September is the culinary festival UNIQUE Bansko. 11 Bansko traditional restaurants - “mehana” or taverns are part of the UNIQUE Bansko tavern chain. They are honored as carrying the authentic spirit of tradition and offering the most delicious dishes from the region.
At this festival they will present their culinary skills on the main square in Bansko and will offer free tasting for all guests. You can visit the culinary festival with a short 25-minute walk from Premier Resort to the central square of Bansko.
